In April 2002 we were asked to come up with some proposals for Selfridges, a famous department store in London’s Oxford Street.
The opportunity to create some work in the busiest street in the UK was too good to miss.
Three installations were created that responded to the constant pedestrian traffic passing the windows. Ultrasonic sensors mounted above the 19 foot window detected passers-by, whilst behind the glass, large inflatable figures shot up to greet the viewers.
